To the point of having to... (also do it). Doing excessive and undesirable things to achieve the goal.

注意 / Note：Brings a critical, unbelievable tone. The latter is usually 〜べきではない・〜たくない.

比較 / Compare：〜てまで（to do too much, criticize）／〜までして（same meaning, used with noun）.

よく出る形 / Common form：動て形＋まで／名＋までして＋（〜たくない・〜べきではない）.

借金をしてまで、旅行に行きたいとは思わない。

I don't want to travel to the point of having to borrow money.

徹夜までして準備したのに、結果は出なかった。

I prepared to the point of staying up all night but still got no results.

嘘をついてまで勝ちたいとは思わない。

I don't want to win so much that I have to lie.
