接続：動ない形（ないを取る）＋ ずじまい ※する→せずじまい
In the end, it wasn't... okay（that's it）. I intended to do it but in the end couldn't do it and now it's too late.
注意 / Note：Always accompanied by the speaker's feeling of regret. Usually: 会えずじまい・言えずじまい.
比較 / Compare：〜ずじまい（in the end it was NOT possible, regretfully）↔ 〜始末だ（in the end it was bad）— easy to confuse pair.
よく出る形 / Common form：動ない形（ないを取る）＋ずじまい。する→せずじまい.
