Give & receive — あげる/くれる/もらう and form てV
接続：（人）が （私に） Vて形 ＋ くれる
Someone does it for me — the beneficiary is always me or my side, with a nuance of gratitude.
注意 / Note：This is a form that Japanese people use a lot to show gratitude. Same thing, if くれる is omitted, the sentence sounds cold.
比較 / Compare：友だちが手伝った（just the truth）／友だちが手伝ってくれた（grateful）.
よく出る形 / Common form：（人）が Vてくれました／てくださいました。
友だちが宿題を手伝ってくれました。
My friend helped me do my homework.
先生が推薦状を書いてくださいました。
He wrote a letter of introduction for me.
道を教えてくれてありがとうございます。
Thank you for showing me the way.
