接続：動ない形（ないを取る）＋ んばかり ※する→せんばかり
As if about to…, almost as if…. It hasn't actually happened yet but looks like it's about to happen.
注意 / Note：It is a way of describing simile, exaggeration, used in writing. Not used for the speaker's own actions.
比較 / Compare：〜んばかり（simile: looks like it's about to happen, actually hasn't happened yet）／〜そうだ（normal prediction）.
よく出る形 / Common form：動ない形（ないを取る）＋んばかりだ／んばかりに／んばかりの＋名。する→せんばかり。No used for the speaker's own actions.
彼女は泣かんばかりの顔で事情を話した。
She told the story with a face that looked like she was about to cry.
店員は「早く帰れ」と言わんばかりの態度だった。
The staff had an attitude as if saying "go home quickly".
会場は割れんばかりの歓声に包まれた。
The hall was filled with cheers that seemed to break the whole house.
