接続：名 ＋ を皮切りに(して)／を皮切りとして
Starts with…, then spreads/continuously from there…. Take the first incident as a milestone, then activities develop strongly.
注意 / Note：The next part must be a series of continuing, increasingly expanding (usually positive and exciting). Don't use it for bad things.
比較 / Compare：〜を皮切りに（milestone start, spreading）↔ 〜を限りに（milestone end）.
よく出る形 / Common form：名＋を皮切りに(して)／を皮切りとして。The latter must be a series of continuation/expansion.
そのバンドは大阪公演を皮切りに、全国20都市をまわる。
That band opened with a show in Osaka and then toured across 20 cities.
