Time relation — just now… then, as soon as, since
接続：動辞書形／た形 ＋ が早いか
Just now… then immediately…. The following action happened almost at the same time, surprisingly fast.
注意 / Note：Used for things that happened (past). The following sentence does NOT use will, command, or inducement sentences. Hue: the speaker is surprised because it was so fast.
比較 / Compare：〜が早いか（once, happened）／〜そばから（repeat）／〜なり（same subject, unexpected action）／〜や否や（hardest writing）.
よく出る形 / Common form：動辞書形・た形＋が早いか＋（過去の文）。The following sentence DOES NOT use 〜たい・〜(よ)う・〜てください.
彼はベルが鳴るが早いか、教室を飛び出して行った。
As soon as the bell rang, he rushed out of the classroom.
その本は発売されるが早いか、たちまち売り切れた。
As soon as the book was released, it immediately sold out.
そのニュースが流れるが早いか、問い合わせの電話が鳴り始めた。
As soon as the news spread, the phone rang continuously.
