No matter what…. Even the special/strongest case is no exception.
注意 / Note：Very formal, ancient writing. Often goes with strong words: どんな〜, 一日〜, 専門家〜.
比較 / Compare：〜といえども often goes with いかに・どんな・一日; more ancient than 〜とはいえ.
よく出る形 / Common form：名／普通形＋といえども。Formal writing.
専門家といえども、判断を誤ることはある。
Even if you are an expert, sometimes you make a wrong judgment.
いかに困難といえども、やり遂げなければならない。
No matter how difficult it is, it must be done.
いかに親しい友人といえども、言ってはならないことがある。
No matter how close a friend is, there are things that cannot be said.
