接続：動ば形 ＋ それまでだ
If… then it's over/finished. All the effort is in vain.
注意 / Note：Often accompanied by いくら〜ても in front to emphasize wastefulness.
比較 / Compare：〜ばそれまでだ（meaningless）; often go with いくら〜ても・どんなに〜ても.
よく出る形 / Common form：動ば形＋それまでだ.
どんなに立派な計画も、実行しなければそれまでだ。
No matter how good the plan is, if you don't execute it, it will be thrown away.
命あっての物種、死んでしまえばそれまでだ。
As long as you are alive, you have everything; death is the end.
どんなに貯金しても、健康を失えばそれまでだ。
No matter how much you save, if you lose your health, it's over.
