2026年8月28日で、熊本地震くまもとじしんの発生はっせいからちょうど1カ月がたちました。最大震度しんど7を観測したこの地震で、今も約2500人が避難所ひなんじょで生活しています。

August 28, 2026, marks exactly one month since the Kumamoto earthquake. The quake registered a maximum intensity of 7, and about 2,500 people are still living in evacuation shelters.

記録的な暑さあつさの中、断水だんすいが続く地域もあります。政府はきょう、復興ふっこうを支援するパッケージを決定しました。観光を後押しする「九州応援割おうえんわり」も含まれています。

In record heat, some areas still face water outages. The government today decided on a recovery support package, which includes a “Kyushu support discount” to boost tourism.

井戸の復旧ふっきゅう費用を公費で負担する方針も示されました。財務相は「再建支援に全力を尽くす」と述べました。被災地では、小学校の始業式しぎょうしきも行われ、子どもたちが学校に戻り始めています。

The government also indicated that the cost of restoring wells will be covered by public funds. The Finance Minister said the government will “do its utmost to support reconstruction.” In the affected areas, elementary school opening ceremonies were held and children have begun returning to school.

一方で、余震よしんへの警戒けいかいは続いています。暑さ対策や感染症かんせんしょう予防も重要です。政府は一日も早く平穏へいおんな生活を取り戻せるよう、全力で取り組む方針です。

At the same time, caution against aftershocks continues. Heat protection and infection prevention are also important. The government says it will do everything possible so that people can regain a peaceful life as soon as possible.
