高専の分野拡大　農業・ゲームも　準学士を学位に

文部科学省は、高等専門学校こうとうせんもんがっこう（高専）の教育内容をこれまでの工学こうがく系中心から、農業のうぎょうやマンガ・ゲームなどのコンテンツコンテンツ分野にも広げる方針ほうしんを示しました。同時に、卒業生に与えられる「準学士じゅんがくし」の称号しょうごうを、国際的に通用する学位がくいにすることを検討けんとうしています。

The Ministry of Education has indicated a policy of expanding kosen educational content from engineering to include agriculture and content fields such as manga and games. At the same time, it is considering making the “associate” title an internationally recognized degree.

高専は中学卒業後に入学する原則5年制の学校で、実習じっしゅうを中心とした実践的じっせんてきな教育を行っています。現在全国に約58校あり、ほとんどが工学系です。卒業生の約6割が就職しゅうしょくし、4割が進学しんがくしていますが、準学士は正式な学位ではないため、海外での評価ひょうかや進学・就職で不利になるケースもありました。

Kosen are five-year schools entered after junior high, focusing on practical training. There are about 58 schools nationwide, mostly engineering. About 60% of graduates find jobs and 40% continue studies, but the non-degree status of “associate” has sometimes caused disadvantages overseas.

文科省は、AIや半導体など成長分野の即戦力そくせんりょく人材を育成するため、高専の機能強化きのうきょうかを進める考えです。教育分野の拡大に加え、公立・私立高専の新設しんせつ支援や教員の確保、インターンシップインターンシップや留学の充実なども政策パッケージに盛り込む方針です。

The ministry aims to strengthen kosen functions to train ready-to-work talent in growth fields such as AI and semiconductors. The policy package will also include support for new public and private kosen, securing teachers, and enhancing internships and study abroad.

有識者ゆうしきしゃによる検討会がすでに始まっており、年内をめどに具体的な方策を取りまとめる予定です。15歳で専門分野を決めるため、ミスマッチミスマッチを防ぐ入学者選抜にゅうがくしゃせんばつの仕組みや、地元での就職先の確保なども課題として指摘されています。

An expert review meeting has already begun, with specific measures to be compiled by year-end. Because students choose their field at age 15, selection mechanisms to prevent mismatch and securing local jobs have also been pointed out as issues.

この改革が実現すれば、高専はより幅広い学生を集めやすくなり、地域や産業界のニーズに応じた人材育成じんざいくせいが進むと期待されています。学位の授与じゅよが認められれば、卒業生の国際的な活躍の場も広がる見通しです。

If realized, kosen will attract a wider range of students and advance talent development meeting local and industry needs. If degree conferral is approved, graduates’ international opportunities will expand.
