Expands the て & state form — ている/てある/ておく/てしまう/てみる
接続：自動詞て形 ＋ いる
Remaining status after transformation is complete — door is open, light is on, person is standing. Not 'ongoing'.
注意 / Note：With the verb, ている is doing; with verbs, ている is result state. 窓が開いています = door (in state) open.
比較 / Compare：窓が開いています（status, it's unclear who did it）／窓が開けてあります（someone intentionally opened it）.
よく出る形 / Common form：Nが 自動詞ています。（開いて・閉まって・ついて・消えて・並んで）
窓が開いています。
The window is open.
教室の電気がついています。
The classroom lights are on.
財布が落ちていますよ。
There's a wallet falling on the ground.
