接続：動た形 ＋ ところで
Yes… it's useless. Even if you try, the result is still not as expected.
注意 / Note：The latter is always negative or has the meaning of "useless", usually with 〜ない・むだだ・たかが知れている. It is the speaker's speculation.
比較 / Compare：〜たところで（trying is also useless, the latter is negative）／〜ても（more neutral）. Or go with いくら・今から・どんなに.
よく出る形 / Common form：動た形＋ところで＋（〜ない・むだだ）.
今から走ったところで、間に合わないだろう。
Even if I run now, I won't be able to make it in time.
いくら謝ったところで、彼は許してくれない。
No matter how much he apologizes, he won't forgive.
今から急いだところで、開演には間に合わない。
Even if we rush now, we won't be able to make it in time for the opening ceremony.
