Accompanying action — by the way…, both… and (parallel)
接続：名（動作性）／動ます形 ＋ がてら
By the way... let's do it now.... One go/work that achieves two tasks, casual, intimate tone.
注意 / Note：Softer than 〜かたがた (formal). Often used for traveling: 散歩がてら・買い物がてら.
比較 / Compare：〜がてら is often used with move verbs（散歩・買い物・行き）; much lighter than 〜かたがた.
よく出る形 / Common form：名（動作性）／動ます形＋がてら.
散歩がてら、駅前のパン屋に寄ってみよう。
While walking, try the bakery in front of the station.
買い物に行きがてら、この手紙を出してきて。
When you go shopping, please send me this letter.
駅まで送りがてら、少し話をした。
While seeing off to the station, we talked for a while.
