コンゴでエボラ感染者が8000人超え　同国史上最悪の流行に

中央アフリカのコンゴ民主共和国コンゴみんしゅきょうわこくで、エボラ出血熱エボラしゅっけつねつの流行りゅうこうが続いています。政府が28日に公表こうひょうした最新さいしんのデータデータにより、確認かくにんされた感染者かんせんしゃの数が初めて8000人を超えるこえることが明らかになりました。

An outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever continues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. According to the latest data released by the government on the 28th, the number of confirmed cases has exceeded 8,000 for the first time.

公衆衛生こうしゅうえいせい研究所けんきゅうじょの状況じょうきょう報告ほうこくによると、感染者は8067人にのぼっています。また、この病気びょうきによる死者ししゃの数は3901人に達するたっすることが分かりました。

According to a situation report from the Public Health Institute, the number of infected people has reached 8,067. Furthermore, the death toll from the disease has reached 3,901.

今回の流行は、エボラウイルスウイルスの「ブンディブギョブンディブギョ種」という種類しゅるいが原因げんいんとされています。感染者数と死者数のどちらも2018年から2020年の流行を上回りうえまわり、同国で過去最悪かこさいあくの規模きぼとなっています。

This outbreak is attributed to the "Bundibugyo strain" of the Ebola virus. Both case count and death toll have exceeded the 2018–2020 outbreak, making it the worst in the country's history.

世界的せかいてきに見ても、今回の流行は2014年から2016年に西アフリカにしアフリカで起きた流行に次ぐ大きさです。当時とうじはギニアギニア、リベリアリベリア、シエラレオネシエラレオネなどで2万8600人以上いじょうが感染し、1万1000人以上が死亡しぼうしました。

On a global scale, this outbreak is second in magnitude only to the 2014–2016 outbreak in West Africa. At that time, more than 28,600 people were infected and more than 11,000 died in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
