Foundational particles
- Which sentence means “I am a student”?
Explanation: は comes after 私 to state the topic.
- Which sentence uses the wrong particle は?
Explanation: The question word as the subject (だれ・なに・どこ) always goes with が, do not use は: だれが来ましたか。
- Choose the correct sentence: “I also drink coffee tomorrow.”
Explanation: も is placed after マイさん, the subject acts like the person who spoke first.
- Which sentence uses wrong も?
Explanation: も replaces は・が・を but does not stand with them: 新聞も読みます。
- Fill in the particle: だれ__来ましたか。
Explanation: The interrogative word だれ often goes with が to ask about the subject.
- Which sentence uses wrong が?
Explanation: 読みます is a transitive verb, the object goes with を: 新聞を読みます。
- Fill in the particle: 日本語__勉強します。
Explanation: 日本語 is the object of action 勉強します.
- Which sentence uses wrong を?
Explanation: を goes with verb, not with adjectives: 部屋は静かです。
- Fill in the particle: 友達__プレゼントをあげます。
Explanation: に marks the recipient of the gift.

Explanation: Where the action takes place use で: 図書館で勉強します。に indicates the destination or place of existence.
- Fill in the particle: バス__会社へ行きます。
Explanation: で refers to means of transportation.

Explanation: と refers to the person communicating with each other.

Explanation: “Alone” is 一人で, do not use と.

Explanation: The possessor 父 comes before の, the possessor 車 comes after.

Explanation: から indicates start, まで indicates end.
