The reason I say that is because
注意 / Note：It can almost replace というのは in the sense of reason, but there is も so it has an ADDITIONAL nuance: explain more clearly why you say that. Not used for definitional purposes.
比較 / Compare：Same song: なぜなら／というのは. These models are often mistakenly chosen for each other — carefully read the 接続 and nuances above and then decide.
よく出る形 / Common form：文。というのも、〜からだ。Only used to mean reason, different from というのは.
この店が好きだ。というのも、店員が親切だからだ。
I like this store because the staff is kind.
急いだほうがいい。というのも、電車が少ないからだ。
You should hurry because the train has few trips.
早めに出たほうがいい。というのも、この時間は道が混むからだ。
Should go a little early. That's because the road is often congested at this hour.
