注意 / Note：The most formal of the three forms, commonly found in official documents and announcements. It can almost replace 〜にあたって, but 〜に際して is harder and less used when speaking.
比較 / Compare：Same article: 〜にあたって／〜に先立って. These models are often mistakenly chosen for each other — carefully read the 接続 and nuances above and then decide.
よく出る形 / Common form：名詞・動辞書形＋に際して／に際し。Or go with 契約・入会・利用・出発. Very suitable for writing.
契約に際して、条件を確認した。
When signing the contract, I confirmed the conditions.
出発に際して、家族に挨拶した。
