旧中道改革連合に所属していた立憲民主党出身の議員たちが9月11日、新しい政党の立ち上げに向けた協議を行いました。参加者たちは、今月15日に新しい党名や執行部体制を正式に決定し、来週中にも新党を結成することで合意しました。残務処理を進めるため、組織委員長を務める渡辺創氏が当面は旧組織に残る方針も取り決められました。
On September 11, lawmakers from the Constitutional Democratic Party who belonged to the former Moderate Reform Alliance met to discuss launching a new political party. Attendees agreed to officially decide on the new party name and leadership structure on September 15, aiming to establish the party within next week. To handle remaining administrative tasks, it was also decided that Organization Committee Chairman Hajime Watanabe will temporarily remain in the old organization.
今回の会合には、立憲民主党系の議員全21名のうち、小川代表や階幹事長をはじめとする過半数の議員が出席しました。会合では党名や幹部人事、政治綱領などについて幅広い意見交換が行われました。議員らは14日と15日にも引き続き協議を重ね、最終的な判断を下す予定です。
More than half of the 21 lawmakers associated with the Constitutional Democratic faction attended the meeting, including Representative Ogawa and Secretary-General Shina. During the meeting, attendees exchanged a wide range of views on the party name, executive personnel, and political platform. The lawmakers plan to continue discussions on September 14 and 15 to make a final decision.
新党の名称に関しては「『民主』という言葉を込めるべきだ」という主張が多く出されたほか、「改革の会」といった候補案も提示されました。また、党の基本政策や綱領については、これまでの方針から大きな変更を加える必要はないとの意見が優勢でした。人事についても「現在の代表や幹事長が引き続き務めるべきだ」という空気が広がっています。
Regarding the name of the new party, many advocated that the word "Democratic" should be included, while alternative candidates such as "Reform Association" were also proposed. Concerning the party's basic policies and platform, the prevailing opinion was that major changes from previous policies were unnecessary. On personnel matters, there was a general sentiment that the current representative and secretary-general should remain in their positions without replacement.
旧組織に残って残務処理を担当する渡辺氏は、業務の完了後に新党へ合流する計画となっています。なお、この会合の席上では、旧党の創設を主導した野田佳彦元首相が「自分が後始末を行うべきだ」と発言し、周囲の執行部がそれを制止する一幕もありました。
Mr. Watanabe, who remains in the former organization to handle remaining business, plans to join the new party once his work is complete. Notably, during the meeting, former Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, who led the creation of the former party, remarked, "I ought to be the one cleaning up after this," leading members of the executive board to intervene and restrain him.
